The data displayed on this site is extracted from actual data recorded at each county. If there appears to be a mistake in the data, the most efficient way to have the corrections made is to contact the County Clerk for that county. If the county official determines that there is an error, that information can be corrected and the data refreshed by the county.
The way that the Legal Description is shown varies from county to county, so there is no standard format for the Section, Township, and Range. If you are unable to find any records when searching using the Legal to Search for: field, you can try utilizing wild cards to find your information. For example, if you are looking for Section 22, Township 9N, Range 26W, you would run a search for *22*9*26*. Note: This will give you more than what you need, so you will have to sort through the results to find what you’re looking for.
For counties that don't have the unplatted search fields, you can try using wildcards (asterisks *) in the "Legal to search for" field. (For example, *4*20*11* would give results for Sec: 4, Township: 20N, Range: 11W) The reason for this is, some counties change the way they input their data from time to time. This will bring up more results than you need, however, so you will have to filter them out.
We are working on getting as many counties online as we can. Ultimately, it is up to the county to decide whether or not to publish their images.
